Latton Bush Centre Tenants
Below is a short brief about most of the Centres tenants which
provides information on the services they offer.
Alzheimer’s Society (Harlow)
Are a small local team of staff and volunteers
who are dedicated to providing carer with up to date information
and practical help. They give you a chance to talk
confidentially to someone who understands. The outreach
workers can visit you at home or in the office, if you
prefer. They will give information regarding other services
plus advice and assistance with Benefits and claims. They
offer courses for carers. Produce a Newsletter covering new
developments, their services and social events. They operate
an information desk at the hospital to coincide with the
consultants clinic to provide independent information and
advice.
Age Concern Home Support
Provide help with various household duties
like, general housework, shopping, laundry and ironing for people
aged 60 and over, who find it difficult to do tasks for
themselves. Their aim is to help older people maintain an
independent life in their own homes.
Counselling and Life Management Centre
(CALM)
Formerly know as the Well Women Centre, the
service was established in 1988. The change of name in 2005
reflects the desire to be able to offer services to men and
couples, by sourcing additional funding. The CALM centre
offers 1:1 Counselling, people may self-refer and the service is
confidential. Self help groups and self-esteem courses are
also available funding permitting.
Commonside Christian
Fellowship (CCF)
CCF has been based at the Latton Bush Centre
for over 10 years and comprises of around 20 adult members and
their Sunday Service is held in the Red Room. They have an
evangelical basis and also believe that the gifts and ministries of
the Holy Spirit are for todays church. There is a strong
sense of community in the church family, expressed in their
friendships, practices care and prayer. Elder Philip Gray and
Tim Humphries from Ten17 also hold regular prayer meetings at the
centre.
Community Mental Health
Centre
The Community Mental Health Centre gives
support to residents of Harlow aged 16-65 years who have issues
caused by depression, anxiety, psychotic or suicidal ideas.
They also support people experiencing a life crisis, so that more
long-term mental health difficulties may be avoided.
There are two teams based at the Centre each
relating to specific GP surgeries. Each team is
multi-disciplinary and offers input by Community Psychiatric
Nurses, Social workers, Occupational Therapists, Support workers,
Psychologists and Consultant Psychiatrists.
Day Services are also offered at the Centre in
the form of groups focusing on areas such as anxiety management,
relaxation, art and music. These are aimed at helping
individuals with mental health problems to develop strategies to
cope with their difficulties.
Employ-Ability
Employ-Ability is the working name of Ideas
Plus, a supported employment service working to increase employment
opportunities for people experiencing barriers to getting a
job. Barriers could include attitudes in the labour market,
physical access or a personal lack of confidence.
Griffon Day Nursery
The Griffon Day Nursery Co-operative Limited
was established in 1990. They are a dedicated team of
professional and qualified nursery staff who provide a safe, caring
and stimulating environment for children to grow. They strive
to ensure that they offer a clear development and curriculum plan
for all age groups from 3 months to 5 years. Working within
the requirements of the Childrens Act 1989, they are annually
inspected by Ofsted Early Years inspectors. The nursery is
registered to cater for 32 children aged 2-5 and 12 under 2’s in
the baby unit. Contact the nursery to arrange a visit.
Harlow Heath Centre Trust
The Trust owns and is responsible for seven
health centres in Harlow and has already built the new Health
Centre at Church Langley and has redeveloped Keats House at Bush
Fair and Addison House.
Relate
Relate provide relationship counselling
services from local venues and several secondary schools across
North Essex, Mid Essex, West Essex and East Herts. Everything
they do is aimed at supporting healthy, positive and balanced
relationships. They offer the service to anyone in need of
guidance with relationship issues; young or old, in a relationship
or single, as a family, as a couple or an individual.
Tarn Technologies
Tarn Technologies is a software services organisation
specialising in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and
Reporting. Over the last 6 years Tarn have help deliver over £100m
of software solutions for the biggest retailers in the UK. This has
covered loyalty systems, merchandising, coupon redemption,
logistics and e-commerce systems on the UK and International stage.
Tarn have delivered systems on three continents: Europe (UK,
Ireland, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia),
North America (United States) and Asia (China, Malaysia, Thailand,
South Korea, India).
Tarn can operate on an Architectural, Project
or Program consultancy basis or build project teams specifically to
service a project requirement. We also provide MDM, CDI and Single
Customer View solutions based around the Matching Objects
toolset.
Harlow Lawn Tennis
Club
HLTC welcomes all standards of players from
beginners to those looking for more competitive tennis and has a
number of teams in the Essex League. It has a very active
junior section and offers both fun and competitive tennis for all
standards. Family memberships are encouraged with an active
program of social tennis events throughout the year. A full
range of coaching programmes are available as well as individual
coaching. The courts at Latton Bush are currently being
redeveloped to improve the facilities.
Harlow Community
Transport
Harlow Community Transport provides an
accessible range of transport services for harlow residents and
local voluntary and community groups.
