The Regeneration Unit’s Service
Mission is “to develop a prosperous and sustainable local economy
in Harlow through partnership working”.
This is carried out in partnership
with a range of public, private and voluntary organisations on
local economic development, education and training, social and
physical regeneration and, inward investment as well as providing
external funding opportunities, business support and capacity
building within the local community.
The unit provides 6 key areas of
work through the Regeneration Strategy and Area Investment &
Renewal Framework, Business Support and Investment, Skills
Development, Town Centre Management & Development, External
Funding and External Funding Contract Management.
Our service objectives
are to:
- To co-ordinate, develop and implement the Harlow Regeneration
Strategy
- To enable the provision of business support services and
promote Harlow as a good place in which to invest
- To improve skills development by local people to enable them to
access good quality jobs and help employers meet their skill
gaps
- To promote and regenerate the town centre
- To ensure that the Council gains access to funding consistent
with its priorities
- To act as accountable body and ensure that contract
requirements are met, claims submitted in a timely and
accurate manner.
