Harlow Town Park Masterplan Background

Allen Scott, on behalf of Harlow Council and Groundwork Hertfordshire produced a masterplan for the regeneration of the Town Park.

The key objective was to produce an overall plan that would realise the potential of the Town Park, it's role within the context of planned development in the vacinity of the park, its role within the Green Space Strategy and the possible growth of the town to the north.

Key Objectives:

  • To review the existing park features and to consider their value and relevance to today's park users
  • To review the location of key park features such as play areas and Pets' Corner
  • To consider opportunities for new recreational facilities / events, in particular those that have the potential to generate revenue
  • To maximise biodiversity through the create of new habitats and the active conservation of existing ones
  • To improve circulation and to create stronger links to the Stations, Town Centre and the River Stort corridor
  • To improve orientation through effective signage.
