Equality Impact Assessment Procedures and Templates
The following procedures and templates have been produced to
facilitate Harlow Council's services undertaking Equality Impact
Assessments (EIAs) of their policies, procedures, functions and
projects.
We undertake EIAs because:
We need to! - EIAs must be undertaken to ensure
that we are properly serving our diverse local community and that
services are genuinely accessible to all
We want to! - EIAs actively support our
commitment to equality and diversity and help us meet the Equality
Standard for Local Government
We have to! - All public bodies must undertake
EIAs of their policies and functions, as set out in the equalities
legislation.
