Creches - a guide
A creche is a safe, supervised play area for a group of
children whose parents are occupied in some activity (eg.
education, leisure, shopping) on the premises or nearby. Creche
workers should have experience in caring for children and are
registered with Social Services. They will also be police and
health checked.
On arrival you register your child with a creche worker,
allowing time to settle them in. It is a good idea to label all
your child's belongings eg. bottles, spare clothes, toys, and to
carry them all in one bag. Pick up your child promptly at the end
of the creche session.
Some Employers provide childcare facilities for their
employee's children either on-site or close to the workplace. These
facilities are registered through Social Services and are subject
to the same statutory regulations for childcare provision.
