Playschemes - a guide

Staff: Staff must have experience working with children and hold a relevant qualification.

Sessions: Opening times vary.

Scheme size: There must not be more than 30 children in one room and there must be one adult for every 8 children.

The Children Act applies.

Meals: Snacks are usually provided.

Age range: Children can attend from 5 to 13 years.

Admissions: To apply for a place, contact the individual scheme.

Cost: Charges may vary from scheme to scheme.
