Young People's Information Centre (YPIC)
The Young Peoples Information Centre (YPIC) provides a free,
confidential and accessible service for young people aged between
13 & 25 years of age from one central point within the
town.
Specialist services include:
- Sexual health and general health advice, including free
pregnancy testing, free contraceptives and emergency
contraception.
- Careers advice on employment and training.
- Welfare rights and advice, including housing, debt and
employment rights.
- Housing and benefits support.
Additional services include free internet access, information
and reference library, IT training, peer support training,
volunteer training and work experience.
The centre also provides a venue for project work such as the
Youth Festival planning group, Jobsearch 2000 and youth
consultation meetings. It is also a venue for training staff,
volunteers and young people.
