Clean Air - Epping Forest and Harlow Smokefree Conference June 2007

Harlow and Epping Forest Councils worked with partners to stage a well received conference attended by a wide cross section of local businesses, helping pave the way for the introduction of smokefree work places on 1st July 2007

The key messages from the experts addressing the conference were:

Virtually every workplace that is not completely outdoors will become smokefree

The law is simple and compliance straightforward

Most smokers want to stop and this will help them

There is a lot of help and guidance on

  • what the duties for employers and smokers are 
  • how to make it easy for customers to comply
  • How to support employees to make the change
