Harlow Council offers two hassle-free services for you to get rid of your garden waste.

With both services we will collect grass cuttings, hedge cuttings, prunings, leaves, bark, flowers, weeds and branches. All garden waste collected will be sent for composting.

Share with a neighbour

If you have a smaller garden and would still like the convenience of a year-round collection and have a near neighbour who shares your pride in gardens, why not share a wheelie bin collection too? We can arrange this.

*If your property cannot accommodate a wheelie bin we will provide you with bags instead.

Get Composting!

Regular gardening can create lots of waste but home composting is an easy way to reuse your cuttings, raw vegetable peelings and tea bags for your own benefit.

You can carry out composting at home by just heaping your garden waste in a corner of your garden or by using a compost bin. You can make your own compost bins out of old pallets, tyres or carpet for example or you can buy a compost bin from a local DIY store. From time to time Harlow Council and Essex County Council have special deals on compost bins which we will publicise on this website. Visit Essex County Council's composting area for more information.

As well as helping to do your bit for the environment, home composting will provide you with a free supply of good quality compost, which will benefit your garden.
