If you need assistance or are finding it difficult to move your
containers, please phone Contact Harlow on 01279 446655 to
request an assisted application form.
To help you with the system we use an advisory hanger scheme,
which means if you haven’t used the system correctly, we will first
notify you with a yellow hanger and then with a red hanger if it
continues.
This is what the hangers look like:
To avoid receiving a hanger, please read the
following:
 |
Please do not contaminate the contents of the wheelie bins,
blue boxes, white bags or the food waste container by putting in
items that are not specified. If you are unsure, please contact
us. |
 |
Please ensure that your bin lid is shut and there is no extra
waste put out with your non-recyclable bin. We will only empty what
is in this bin and no extra.
|
 |
Please ensure that there is no extra waste put out with your
non-recyclables. |
 |
You may put out extra recycling in untied sacks that aren’t
black, next to the recycling boxes. We will only accept
extra recycling provided your recycling bin is full. |
 |
Please ensure that the bins, purple sacks, blue boxes and
bags are not too heavy. Heavy bins, sacks, boxes and bags will be
difficult to move and potentially break when being lifted into the
vehicle. |
 |
Please refer to the calendar to find out your recycling and
non-recyclable collection weeks. If you put the wrong container out
for collection, it will not be collected. |
 |
Please ensure NO black sacks are ever used
for, or in, the recycling bins, blue boxes and bags. If black
sacks are in the bins, boxes or bags, it will not be
collected. |
 |
Please ensure your wheelie bins, purple sacks, boxes, bags and
food waste container are put out at the agreed point of collection
on the relevant day.
|
 |
Only use purple sacks provided for non-recyclables if you are
on that scheme. No other coloured sacks will be accepted. |
 |
Please ensure you use the wheelie bins provided by Harlow
Council if you are on the wheelie bin scheme. Any other bins will
not be collected. This is because the bins are a particular size
and specification to fit our collection vehicles. |
 |
Please ensure lids on wheelie bins are closed when put out for
collection. This will ensure that the bins are not over loaded or
hazardous to the operatives. It will also help keep the items dry
and avoid spillages. |
If you move to a new home the wheelie bins and food
waste containers should be left at the old property.
