How to find us!
Visitors arriving by Air
Harlow enjoys good road and rail communications with London
Stansted Airport, which is less than 15 miles from Harlow.
London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports are also quite
easily accessible via the M25 London Orbital Motorway. Journey
times 50-90 minutes approx.
Motorists arriving from London
The recommended approach from London is by one of two
principal routes, the A10 or the M11.
A10
Follow the signs for A10 to Cambridge. At the intersection
with the A414, south of Ware, turn right on to the A414 and proceed
via Stansted Abbots by-pass entering Harlow on the north side of
the town
Harlow is well signposted. It is necessary to turn right at a
small roundabout to follow the A414 into the town.
M11
Take the A406 (North Circular Road) and travel east to
Woodford where the M11 (and Stansted Airport) is clearly
marked.
Another access point to the M11 can be reached from the
Southeast via junction 4, Redbridge, on the A12.
The M11 can also be joined at Junction 6/27 – it’s
intersection with the M25 London Orbital route (which runs towards
Dartford Tunnel/Queen Elizabeth Bridge to the east and provides a
link with both London Gatwick and London Heathrow Airports).
Once on the M11 leave by exit 7 clearly marked Harlow. Take
the A414 (Harlow) exit at the major roundabout. An early landmark
to look out for is a Little Chef restaurant.
A longer, more scenic, route into Harlow can be taken via the
A104 or A121, and the B1393, which cut through parts of Epping
Forest and the town of Epping.
Motorists approaching from the north via the A1184
The A1184 from Stansted/Bishops Stortford passes through
Sawbridgeworth entering the town near the Harlow Mill Station, Old
Harlow and the A414.
Motorists approaching from the north via the M1
Proceed down the M1 and leave via the M10 in the vicinity of
St Albans. The M10 is a short stretch of motorway and the required
exit is via a roundabout.
At exit roundabout go straight across and proceed to the A405
for Hatfield. Join the A414 travelling eastwards, signposted for
Hertford and Proceed via the Stansted Abbots by-pass entering
Harlow on the north side of town.
Motorists approaching from the north east of England
Rather than using the M1, and taking a west-east cross route,
motorists may find it easier to use the A1, picking up the A604 at
Huntingdon which leads directly to the M11. Leave the M11 at exit 7
for Harlow, and take the A414 (Harlow) exit at the major
roundabout. (Further instructions see *M11)
