Harlow Council’s new Design Guide Supplementary Planning
Document (SPD) was formally adopted by Full Council on 20 October
2011. The SPD provides detailed guidance on the design
of future developments in Harlow and replaces the Harlow Common
Guidelines SPD. Please follow this

Harlow Council undertook a ten week consultation
on its Core Strategy Issues and Options document between 22
November 2010 and 28 January 2011. The Council is now working
to upload all the responses onto the online consultation
portal. The comments will then be analysed and a Summary
Report of the issues identified will be published in due
course.

Update - February 2010
The Scoping
Report constitutes the first stage in the process of undertaking a
Sustainability Appraisal of Harlow’s LDF Core
Strategy. Follow this link for

Update - January 2010
The Harlow Options Appraisal is required to be undertaken by
Policy HA1 of the East of England Plan. The Study is a technical
report and not a policy document of Harlow Council. It will form
part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) Evidence Base, and
will be taken into account in preparing the emerging LDF Core
Strategy.
Update - November 2009
As part of the Local Development Framework evidence gathering
process Harlow Council is carrying out a “Call for Sites”.
