Harlow Council’s Sustainability Strategy

In June 2007 the Committee approved an outline Sustainability Strategy which set out the framework and strap line against which a detailed action plan would be produced.  This has now been completed and was approved by the January 2009 Environment and Community Committee.

Overall progress will be monitored using a programme approach in that sub projects will work towards delivering the targets and these will be monitored centrally as part of a programme. This will include monthly review of individual projects through Harlow Council’s Prince 2 base project management process and monitoring arrangements, with performance reports being made available to the Corporate Management Team and the Audit and Improvement Committee.

An annual review and progress report will be considered by the Environment and Community Committee.  This will include qualitative and quantitative analysis of the achievement of overall programme, its objectives and more detailed analysis of individual projects.
