Street Naming and Numbering
The naming of streets and the numbering, or
naming, of properties within a street is managed by Harlow District
Council.
The address of a property is becoming an ever
more important issue. Increasing numbers of organisations,
including postal and emergency services, local authority and the
general public, need an efficient means of locating and referencing
properties. The Council is the Street Naming and Numbering
Authority for the area.

The naming and numbering of new streets and
houses ensures that duplication of names and numbers does not
occur. The Council, Royal Mail and the developer are consulted to
ensure that suitable names are chosen. Details are circulated to
other organisations including the emergency services.
