Wildspace
From fun days to workdays, guided walks to evening talks, the
Wildspace! project is encouraging schools, youth groups,
communities and individuals to get more from Harlow’s green spaces
and have fun while doing so!
Welcome to the Wildspace! Website
Harlow Council has successfully obtained a grant from English
Nature’s Wildspace! Grant Scheme, funded by the New Opportunities
Fund. This money will be used to fund a Wildspace! Community
Liaison Officer as well as capital costs towards improving open
spaces for wildlife and local people.
The Wildspace! Officer began work in February 2004 and is
funded to work alongside local communities and interested groups to
encourage greater use and appreciation of wildlife sites as well as
increasing biodiversity and amount of Local Nature Reserves for
everyone to enjoy.
In particular, the Wildspace! Officer’s role will include
encouraging young people to understand more and get more from their
local environment, with opportunities to get involved in caring for
and managing sites for wildlife.
From fun days to workdays, guided walks to evening talks, the
Wildspace! project is encouraging schools, youth groups,
communities and individuals to get more from Harlow’s green spaces
and have fun while doing so!
