Big Garden Bird Watch

Sunday 31st January, 1pm-3pm

Parndon Wood Nature Reserve

Join in the RSPB nationwide survey to discover what birds we have across Britain and close to home.  Come along and help survey the birds found at Parndon Wood.  You don’t need to be an expert, everyone can join in!  As well as spotting birds children can make a bird food cake and there will be lots of birdie arts and crafts too!

Night-walk

Tuesday 2nd February, 4.45pm-5.45pm

During Nature Club there will be an exciting night-walk to explore the woodland and its creatures in the dark!  There will also be fun night-time games and activities too!

 

Winnie-the-Pooh Story-time

Sunday 7th February, 1pm-3pm

Parndon Wood becomes Hundred-Acre-Wood for the afternoon with stories of Pooh and his friends as well as games and activities including building a new house for Eeyore and going in search of a heffalump!

Love Birds and Love Bugs Day

Remember to love the birds and bugs too this valentine’s day with bird spotting, bug hunts and arts and crafts.  Or how about enjoying a romantic stroll around your local woodland this and steal a kiss beneath the magical kissing tree!

Search the woodland for the first signs of Spring on this special walk.  Will you be the first to find a tadpole or spot a nesting bird?!

New for 2010! – Evening Walks at Parndon Wood

This year there are even more opportunities to explore the wildlife at your local woodland with monthly evening walks.  On the first Tuesday of each month there will be either a night-walk, dusk-walk, bat or moth walk depending on the time of year.

 

The walks are designed for children and families to be able to explore the woodland in an exciting new way.  Walks will include exploring wildlife as well as fun night-time games for children to join in.  The first walk will be on Tuesday 2nd February, 4.45pm-5.45pm as a part of nature club.

Nature Club

Don’t forget, Nature Club is on every Tuesday after school 3.45pm-5.45pm during term-time.  Nature Club is a great way for children to explore, discover and have fun with wildlife!  There is no need to book and it’s free!  Just drop in for wild games and activities.  Please note that children need to be accompanied by an adult.  For more information about nature club call 01279 430005 or email becky.naman@harlow.gov.uk.
