Welcome to Harlow Council's Housing
Services

Providing homes for the people of Harlow is a
key priority for the Council and its partners.
We make great efforts to ensure decent,
affordable homes for residents to rent, or buy through special
schemes, are available to meet local needs – a demand that has
grown considerably over the past decade.
Most of Harlow’s existing homes were built
in the last fifty years, so the majority are in good condition.
Currently there are around 10,000 houses and flats for rent.
The Council maintains a Housing Register listing all the people who
have applied for housing and operates a system of choice based
lettings and exchanges.
The Housing Service is also responsible for
tenant and leaseholder services such as information about housing
repairs, service charges, consultation and insurance as well as
information about housing benefit and how to apply.
