Declarations of Interests
Each Member of Council is asked
annually to complete a declaration of interest form for the
Register of Members’ Interest (which is maintained by the
Monitoring Officer under Section 81(1) of the Local Government Act
2000).
Whilst the form is issued on an annual basis,
Members are also aware of their obligations (under Section 5 of the
Council’s Constitution and under the Councillors’ Code of Conduct)
to provide written notice to the Monitoring Officer (within 28
days) of any changes to their interests so that the register can be
updated throughout the year.
A summary of the current register
2011/12 is detailed below. A copy of the completed form for
each Member is available for public inspection at the Civic
Centre.
