Harlow Youth Council Candidates'
Statements
Alex
I believe that the voices of the youth are very important. I
will demonstrate my commitment and will give my full support for a
better Harlow. I am prepared to get my point across.
Ashley
I think it’s important young people are involved in the
community. I would like to help young people get their views across
and help them to be involved in the development of Harlow.
Daniel
I would like to achieve positive things for young people in
Harlow; get cinema tickets reduced and also get the views of young
people heard. I want to make a significant difference.
Danielle
After two years experience, I feel I have helped make a
difference. I feel I could still help make a bigger difference and
continue to give young people a voice in our town.
Dean
Young people are being treated differently than adults because
of their negative image in the community’s eyes. With your vote I
will persevere to change this.
Emmanuel
I appreciate the fact that every individual has a unique and
different opinion, that’s why I want to be a representative for
youth in Harlow, enabling me to put people’s views and opinions
into practice.
Ferrari
Elect me as I’m just a young person looking to make a difference
for the young people who can’t speak for themselves. So if you have
a point I will raise it.
Gracie
I believe that there are not enough affordable activities for
young people in Harlow. If I am elected, I will try to introduce
more things to improve Harlow for young people.
Hannah
I’ve done so much in the past two years, but there’s still a lot
to do. I always see young people being abused, bullied even, just
for being different. This needs to be changed now.
Jake
You should vote for me as I will voice your opinion and improve
Harlow. This will make it a safer and cheaper town to live in. Vote
for me!!!!
Jessica
If I were elected as a youth councillor I will try to have a
weekend music venue including Friday nights opened for young people
from the age of 13.
Nishall
If I were elected, I would lower prices for bus fares, get more
facilities to keep the youths entertained and I would help cut
crimes and have youth voices heard – even the quiet people.
Promise!
Nicole
I can’t promise to make the grass greener nor can I make the sky
bluer, but if you elect me: every point you make I will listen to,
put forward and fight for.
Paul
I can provide young people a loud voice to be heard around
Harlow. I could bring all issues to meetings and provide support. I
want young people to be heard and to achieve positive things.
Perry
If elected back onto HYC, I can continue to develop the town for
you. I’ve previously managed to bring a youth café and skate park
to this town and I’m going to get even more!
Rania
I believe that you should pick me as I have the ability to make
a difference. If I want to achieve something, I won’t stop until I
do. I believe in helping people.
Saffron
I believe in helping people and I think that young members of
the community should be able to share their views and by putting
all my attributes together, I can work to my best ability.
Savannah
If elected, I would try to the best of my ability to improve
Harlow for young people. I will put across everyone’s view and
opinions to try and make a difference, so vote for me!
Scott
I want to represent the youth in Harlow because everyone has an
opinion but some people are too shy to express themselves. Vote for
me to get your voices heard.
Shayne
I want to join because I want more free facilities for young
people to go on at the weekends and school holidays so they’re not
causing trouble. With your vote I will achieve this.
Stephanie
Please elect me because helping voice opinions of the
community’s young people means a lot. I would like to help our
community to be a better place, not only for young people but for
everyone.
Suliman
I would like to represent you, the young people of Harlow, to
make your community a better place for you to live in. Providing an
enjoyable and secure town for the many generations to come.
Timi
If voted for, I will take the views and opinions of the youth
into consideration and try to obtain more places for youth to
socialise and associate. Vote for me!
Zahra
You always hear about the able-bodied youths and what they need.
What about the disabled? There are no facilities for disabled
youths. If elected, I will fight to open a park especially for
you.

Young Essex Assembly Candidates'
Statements
Alex
I am standing for YEA because I believe the
voices of young people should be heard and I think there should be
a bigger variety of activities for the youth. I will
demonstrate my commitment and will try my hardest to succeed.
Danielle
There are many issues in Essex that I don’t
feel are raised for young people. I feel that I could help
raise these issues and find a solution to them which will benefit
the young people of Essex.
Hannah
Nobody ever seems to be treated equally or
fairly in this town! I want to provide a strong voice to make
this change. I’d also like to work on improving transport –
because even after two years of campaigning, it’s still not good
enough!
Perry
After representing you on the Harlow Youth
Council, I feel I have enough skills to take my role further.
I’ve helped build a youth café and skate park whilst being a youth
councillor. I know that if elected, I’ll be able to do even
more.
