Olympic Celebrations 24th
August 2008
Countdown to London 2012 Olympics:
Harlow Youth Council and Young Essex
Assembly members (Bharat, Leroy, Doris, Megan, Sam and Zoë) joined
the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics and official
handover to London 2012 celebrations at Harlow Civic Centre and
Café Youth.
The Chinese Lions and
drummers performed for the crowds, Cllr Tony Hall raised the
Cultural Olympiad flag and several people took part in a cycle
ride to launch the Harlow Activity map.
At Café Youth, the celebrations continued
with African music and dance followed by the Chinese Lions and
drummers.
