Sub Group and Responsibilites

Office Co-ordinator – To meet Council staff on a regular basis, distribute post and undertake any tasks as and when required.  To arrange extra support if needed. To receive all information and to disseminate information to full youth council meetings.  This position will also involve attending newsletter meetings to ensure accurate reporting of youth council issues

Achievements

As a volunteer I have represented the voice of the youth and have taken the issues to certain adult councillors.  I have got a Jack Petchey award, Trident Community Involvement award and a Duke of Edinburgh award.

This has contributed to the work of my project and community as I have been a voice for young people for the last four years.  I have also taken on the role of being a fundraiser for the youth council.

This relates to my personal/career plans as after finishing my A-levels, I hope to go to university.  The youth council has taught me about myself and made me a more confident person which will help me in the next few years.

Level Two “Certificate in Community Volunteering” qualification.

Level Two OCN Certificate "Communication Skills for Mentoring"
