Doris
Harlow Youth Councillor

Elected 2006 - 2008
Elected 2008 - 2010

Manifesto Statement

I will use my two years experience to continue to get the voices of young people heard.  I will also ensure that the youth café is a success and young people get what they want.

Sub Group and Responsibilities

Special Project Team (currently Café Youth) – Responsibility to attend all youth café meetings, to receive all youth café information and to disseminate information to subgroup and full youth council meetings. Nb.  Current special project is the Café Youth.  This may change.

Achievements

As a volunteer I have helped with the opening of the kickwall, currently helping with the Youth Café and Connexions.  Also being a chair at full youth council meetings and taken minutes.

This has contributed to me having good IT skills, confidence, being a good listener and also being a good communicator.

This relates to my personal career plans because I wanted to be a midwife and health visitor.  Being a good communicator, being a good listener and having high confidence will help me deal with my patients.
