Zoe
Harlow Youth Councillor

Elected 2008 - 2010

Manifesto Statement

I think every child matters and so do their opinions, so I would like to represent the young people of Harlow and help get their voices heard.

Sub Group and Responsibilites

Connexions One Stop Shop Representative – Responsibility to attend all relevant meetings and consultations, to receive all information and to disseminate information to subgroup and full youth council meetings.  To ensure that the youth council is always represented at One Stop Shop meetings.

As a volunteer, I have:

Successfully stood for election as a Harlow Youth Councillor and have attended every meeting that was arranged.  I also attended all the training.  I volunteered to be on the Harlow Youth Cafe Committee and it is now open!

Contribution to the work of my project and community:

I have been able to pass the opinions of young people to the youth cafe meetings and full youth council meetings about things that are happening in Harlow and to feed back what is going on.

Relation to personal/career plans:

In the future, I intend to get a job in art and graphics.  My experience in the youth council has given me the opportunity to give presentations and do public speaking which will help me with my future job.

Achievements:

ASDAN L2 Certificate in Community Volunteering

Bronze Essex Arts Award

Trident Certificate of Community Involvement
