The Harlow Gateway Project
The £50 million Harlow Gateway project delivers new sporting
facilities alongside much-needed housing for the town. Homes will
be built on the sites vacated by the existing Sportcentre,
athletics track and Harlow Town Football Club – and the swimming
pool.
The project is in three phases with the final phase –
development on the existing Sportcentre site – determined by the
opening of the new community leisure centre.
Harlow Gateway is backed by the Department of Communities
and Local Government – which is contributing £11 million –
Harlow Council, Harlow Sports Trust and English Partnerships. It
will generate a major boost for sports, leisure and lifestyle
activities in Harlow in line with the Harlow Gateway vision.
