What is the Essex Energy Switch?
Essex County Council working in partnership with Harlow Council has organised a collective energy switching scheme for residents and businesses who wanted to cut their energy bills.
The more people who take part, the greater the chances of getting a competitive energy deal!
Who is it for?
Anyone who pays an energy bill can take part. As well as homeowners this includes tenants and customers on pre-payment meters. You can register for electricity and gas or just for one or the other. The choice is yours.
Small and medium-sized businesses can also register through the bespoke business bureau service and we encourage them to do so.
How do I register?
Simply register for a free no obligation offer, by giving your details and your energy consumption. Completing the registration form takes less than 5 minutes.
Registration closing date: 22 May 2017.
What happens next?
- There will be a auction on 23 May 2017 for energy companies to bid against each other to offer the lowest rate for gas and electricity contracts. The supplier who offers the cheapest tariff will get to offer you a new contract.
- You will receive an email from 2 June onwards with an offer based on the usage information you submitted. The emailed offer is a no obligation offer, therefore it is your choice whether you take up the offer.
- If you decide to accept the offer you need to let us know before 4 July 2017. Then they take care of the entire switch for you, meaning the whole thing is as smooth and hassle-free for you as possible.
