Council services not affected by snow
All Harlow Council services have been
operating today.
Staff have been dealing with an increased
volume of calls due to snow and power failures.
Most waste and recycling collections are
taking place today. It is possible that some households may not
have food waste, recycling or non-recycling collected today due to
icy conditions on several estates. If a household’s waste is not
collected today it will be collected on Monday morning subject to
weather conditions. Those households affected are advised to put
their waste out again on Monday (21 December). Up to date
information will appear on the Council’s website.
Councillor Andrew Johnson, Leader of the
Council, said: “I am pleased to report that all front line services
are operating today with minimal disruption. We have been working
hard to ensure people can get on with their everyday tasks.
Teams have been working across the town on gritting priority
areas to ensure access to doctors’ surgeries and health centres,
shops and sheltered housing complexes. I would like to say well
done to our staff for preparing so well for the bad weather and
ensuring Harlow people continue to receive services.
“Due to icy conditions on some estates, refuse
and recycling collections taking place today may be slightly
disrupted. We are in close contact with the contractor to ensure
that as many collections as possible are carried out today.”
