Wintertime Fun at Parndon Woods
Families are being encouraged to explore the
winter wildlife at Parndon Wood Nature Reserve with lots of free
fun events!
Parndon Wood Nature Reserve, run by Harlow
Council, will be hosting some exciting events this
winter. From night-walks to bird spotting and storytelling
there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Big Garden Bird Watch
Sunday 31 January 2010, 1pm-3pm
Join in the RSPB nationwide survey to discover
what birds we have across Britain and close to home. Come
along and help survey the birds found at Parndon Wood. You
don’t need to be an expert, everyone can join in! As well as
spotting birds children can make a bird food cake and there will be
lots of birdie arts and crafts too!
Night-walk
Tuesday 2 February 2010, 4.45pm-5.45pm
During Nature Club there will be an exciting
night-walk to explore the woodland and its creatures in the
dark! There will also be fun night-time games and activities
too!
Winnie-the-Pooh
Story-time
Sunday 7 February 2010, 1pm-3pm
Parndon Wood becomes Hundred-Acre-Wood for the
afternoon with stories of Pooh and his friends as well as games and
activities including building a new house for Eeyore and going in
search of a heffalump!
As well as these events Parndon Wood Nature
Reserve is also open to the public every Sunday 11am-4pm and for
Nature Club every Tuesday 3.45pm-5.45pm.
The events are supported by the Forest
Funtasia Project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, which enables
them to be offered free of charge.
