Standards for tackling anti-social behaviour published
Standards for what the public can expect from local
organisations tackling anti-social behaviour have been
published.
Eight new minimum standards were officially
launched last Thursday (26 August 2010) by the Safer Harlow
Partnership.
The standards will make the public more aware
of what the Council, Police and other organisations can do to help
them.
Chairman of the Safer Harlow Partnership,
Malcolm Morley, said: “In Harlow we have a well established
community safety partnership that is achieving real improvements
for local people. We have long recognised that we can do more
working together with residents than as individual
organisations.
“We encourage people to report crime and
anti-social behaviour particularly because if we don’t know about a
problem we can’t take action. We fully understand, however,
that residents need to be confident that if they do report a
problem action will be taken and that they will be kept informed.
The new standards set out what the public can expect from the
Police and the Council.”
A copy of the new standards can be picked up
from the Civic Centre or viewed by following the below link:

At the same event the partnership launched a
new logo which was designed by local college student Sean
O’Donovan. The logo illustrates the partnership’s ethos of bringing
people together, acting swiftly and working together to make Harlow
a safe place. The logo will be used on new materials and appears on
the partnership’s website.
Anti-social behaviour incidents can be
reported to Essex Police on 0300 333 4444 or to Contact Harlow on
(01279) 446655 or email contact@harlow.gov.uk. More
