Council appoints new Chairman and political
leadership
The following appointments were made at last night's (22 May
2008) Full Council Meeting:
Councillor Tony Hall has
been appointed Harlow Council's Chairman for 2008/9. The
Chairman’s chosen charity for 2008/9 is child victims of crime. The
town's entrepreneurs have been selected as the Chairman's
theme during his term in office.
Councillor Edna Stevens has been appointed Harlow Council's
Vice-Chairman for 2008/9.
Councillor Andrew Johnson (Conservative) has been appointed
Council Leader with Councillor Simon Carter (Conservative) elected
Deputy Leader.
Due to the pending election (12 June 2008) in
the Harlow Common ward, membership of Committees and appointments
of Chairs and Vice-Chairs will not be confirmed until the Full
Council meeting on 17 June 2008.
