Respect Fun Day at the Town Park
Badge making, arts and crafts and bouncy castles will be
some of the attractions that kids can enjoy at Harlow Council’s
Family Fun Day on Wednesday 8th August.
Organised by the Respect Team, the Fun Day
will take place in the Town Park, near the bandstand from 10am-4pm.
The event will combine fun activities for children and young people
with information stands for parents and carers where they can find
out more about good parenting and how to help their children avoid
becoming involved with anti social behaviour.
On hand to give advice will be Sure Start,
Education and Youth Services and the National Childminders
Association and the Council’s newly appointed Senior Parenting
Practitioner who is tasked with promoting positive parenting and
running programmes to help and support parents in Harlow. The day
will be about encouraging parents to identify problems or talk
about concerns at an early stage and get support and help from
professionals.
But whether or not parents need advice, they
can simply bring along the children for the day to enjoy the many
activities that are sure to stop any school holiday boredom.
The day will also be supported by local radio
station Ten 17 FM who will be there on the day and funding for the
event has been provided by the Department of Children, Schools and
Families.
