Gateway Partnership Celebrates
Over 70 guests attended a special reception on
Friday, hosted by the Harlow Gateway Partnership, to mark progress
with the Gateway Project and to celebrate the benefits that the new
sports, leisure and housing developments are bringing to the
town.
The event was held at Harlow Town Football
Club’s stadium at Barrows Farm – the perfect location given the new
pitch and facilities have been delivered through the Project.
Guests were welcomed by Simon Morgan (Vice
Chair, Harlow Town Football Club), who introduced speakers from
some of the organisations behind the Project – including Bill
Rammell MP, Malcolm Morley (Chief Executive, Harlow Council), Chris
Millington and Tony Durcan (Joint Leaders, Harlow Council) and
Tonia Gosling (Chief Executive, Harlow and District Sports
Trust).
The new £3 million stadium at Barrows Farm and
the new £1 million county-standard athletics track at Mark Hall
Community School and Sports College are both up-and-running and
local people are moving into the first of 810 new homes being
delivered as part of the Project. The new £25 million
community leisure centre is currently being built and is due to
open in Autumn 2009.
