Jack Petchey Arts Showcase
Harlow Council presents the second annual Jack
Petchey Arts Showcase at the Playhouse tomorrow evening (20
May). Eight local arts organisations are currently rehearsing
for the show: Essex Dance Theatre, Harlow Ballet Association,
Harlow Rock School, Harlow Steelband, Hip Hop Pop, Livewire,
Phoenix Theatre School and Razed Roof. Each of these
organisations receive regular funding from the Jack Petchey
Foundation in the form of Achievement Awards. This event is
being organised in acknowledgement of the Jack Petchey Foundation’s
support to Harlow’s arts organisations and in recognition and
celebration of the hard work and dedication of all the young people
that participate in these local arts organisations.
Young people from each organisation will be
involved in performances and recent Achievement Award winners and
Leader Award winners from each organisation will be presented with
their medallions by Bill Rammell MP and Nikki Bush from the Jack
Petchey Foundation.
Over 140 young people will be performing on
the night to a full house of supporters. The evening will end
with a rendition of ‘One Vision’ by Queen, played by the Harlow
Rock School and the Harlow Steelband. Each of the
organisations are working in collaboration to choreograph the
finale which will involved all the young people performing
alongside each other on stage.
The event is funded by the Jack Petchey
Foundation.
