We have to keep a register of people who are interested in self-build or custom build projects in Harlow.
Self-build projects are defined as those where someone directly organises the design and construction of their own home.
Custom build homes are where you work with a developer as an individual or a group to help deliver your own home.
If you are interested in building your own home in Harlow as a self-build or custom build please register your interest.
By registering your interest you will help inform Harlow Council of the level of demand for self-build and custom build plots in Harlow, where people would like their plot to be and the type of house that they would like to build.
We will use the information to support developers and landowners in making sure they provide a suitable number of serviced plots.
The register is not a waiting list where you are allocated plots or have suitable plots identified for you.
We will however, notify you about any opportunities to purchase sites that are suitable for either self or custom build housing.
Registration does not guarantee that we will identify a suitable plot, a plot will become available or that planning permission will be granted for a site.
Annual update
If you add your details to the register, we will contact you once each year to confirm you want to remain on the register and that your details are still correct.
If we do not receive a response or you no longer want to be on the list, we will remove your details from the register.
