National lockdown rules apply in Harlow. You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You can now access community testing in Harlow to find out if you might have the virus without symptoms.

Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for 16 to 24 year olds who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.

For each job placement, funding will cover :

  • 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
  • the associated employer National Insurance contributions
  • employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

Applications to the Kickstart Scheme have to be made for at least 30 job placements at a time. Businesses which cannot provide that many job placements, need to use an intermediary who will gather together opportunities from a number of small businesses.

Harlow Council are acting as an intermediary organisation for the scheme.
