Bin collections

Separate food waste collections are currently suspended until 8 February 2021 due to reduced staffing levels. You can find more information in our news story

If your household is self-isolating, personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.

Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

The dump

Essex County Council’s Recycling Centre (the dump) on River Way will remain open during lockdown - it is now operating winter opening hours of 9am to 4pm every day.

See the Love Essex website for guidance on visiting the dump

Green waste

Our green waste subscription service and bagged collection are both still operating as normal.

The green waste subscription service will be suspended for a 2 week period over Christmas as usual.

Bulky waste

Our bulky waste collection service is currently suspended due to reduced staffing levels.
