Bin collections

Regular recycling, non-recycling and food collections are continuing as normal at the moment. There may be delays to some services where this collected later than usual or on a different day.

If your household is self-isolating, personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.

Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

Green waste

There will be no green waste collections from 1 April 2020 until further notice. This will allow us to protect the other waste services and make sure they can continue to run as normal.

If you were due a green waste collection before 1 April 2020 and this has not been collected, please bear with us. Our contractor is aiming to collect outstanding collections by 5 April 2020.

Essex County Council’s Harlow Recycling Centre (the dump) on River Way is also closed from 23 March 2020.

Bulky waste

Whilst bulky collections will also continue as normal for the time being, we will review our capacity to provide this service on a daily basis.

Ordering new bins

We cannot take requests for replacement bins until further notice. This will allow us to protect the other waste services and make sure they can continue to run as normal.

In the meantime, non-recycling can be put in black bags, recycling in untied bags that are not black or purple and food waste in a cardboard box. You should continue to put your waste out on your normal collection day.
