Regular recycling, non-recycling and food collections are continuing as normal at the moment. There may be delays to some services where this collected later than usual or on a different day.
If your household is self-isolating, personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.
Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
Essex County Council’s Recycling Centre (the dump) on River Way reopened on Monday 18 May.
Our green waste subscription service resumed on Monday 27 April 2020.
Our green waste bagged collection resumed on Wednesday 29 July 2020.
For more information see our green waste page
Whilst bulky collections will also continue as normal for the time being, we will review our capacity to provide this service on a daily basis.
