Casual Community Play Worker

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team of staff at Sam’s Place to assist in the provision of activities, supervision and support to children and young people attending the service.

We are a small team of staff who are committed to providing a high quality service for children and young people with disabilities and their families.  It is essential that our staff are reliable, punctual and flexible so that we can offer the best possible provision to service users and these attributes should be high on your list of priorities if you wish to apply for a Casual Community Play Worker contract with the Council.

Although not essential, candidates should have some experience of working with children with a disability and have some knowledge of Child Protection and the development and cultural needs of children from all backgrounds.  You should be able to communicate well with children and their families, be committed to Equal Opportunities and always aim to provide a high quality service. Training will be given.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and attend relevant Child Protection training.  Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.

This position would give anyone wishing to pursue a career working with children the opportunity to gain experience, knowledge and understanding of how to deliver quality services in this field.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Christine Howard, Youth & Citizenship Manager, on 01279 446192

Protecting the health and wellbeing of residents and staff will always be the Council’s priority. Safety measures to help stop the spread of the virus have been put in place and we have complied with the government's guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 and completed a COVID-19 risk assessment for all of our buildings. Please visit our Coronavirus page on our website for more information. And our COVID secure poster lists the commitments and compliance we have made to follow the government guidance.
