Separate food waste collections to resume

Published date

From Monday 8 February 2021 separate food waste collections in Harlow will resume.

The collections had been temporarily suspended due to reduced staffing levels.

From Monday food waste can be put out separately and not in non-recycling bins or bags. Excess food waste can be put in a secure cardboard box and placed on top of caddies.

New bookings for bulky waste and electrical collections remain on hold for the time being. Existing bookings will continue to be honoured.

We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding and for their ongoing support towards the bin crews. We would also like to extend our thanks to the brilliant bin crews for their continued work in collecting the town’s waste and recycling during the pandemic.

We expect that the pandemic will continue to cause some disruption to collections. The situation will continue to be reviewed on a daily basis. Residents can check the latest situation and their bins days at https://selfserve.harlow.gov.uk/en

Residents can help by sharing this information with family, neighbours and friends and those without access to the internet.
