Land Based Studies privacy notice

We understand that your privacy is important to you and it’s important to us too. The Land Based Studies programme is managed and run by Harlow Council, being an important local education offering.  This privacy notice tells you what to expect when the Pets’ Corner team collect and process your personal information.

How we collect your personal information

Most of the time your personal information will be provided to us directly from your school as part of the referral process.

Why we collect your personal information

Your information will be used for the purpose only of providing a safe and complete learning environment to complete the land based studies programme.

What personal information we collect

We will be provided with the students name, and their learning profile, together with the address, telephone number and details of a parent of guardian and the preferred method of contact in the event of an emergency.

How we will use your data

Your information will be used for the purposes it is collected.  We do not sell your information to other organisations. We do not move your information beyond the UK. We do not use your information for automated decision making.

Who your information may be shared with (internally and externally)

We will need to share information with Writtle College for the purposes of providing certificates of completion.  We may need to share information to ensure your safety or to assist with the oversight and management of the Land Based Studies programme. If there is an incident during your course, we will provide your details to our Health and Safety team, your School and or the council’s insurers.

How long we keep your personal information

As a matter of principal, all personal information will be held securely and will only be retained electronically for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was provided.  Where it is no longer necessary to hold your information, it will be securely destroyed.
