Fireworks light up Harlow town park

Published date

Thousands of people once again enjoyed Harlow Council’s famous bonfire and fireworks night event which was held in Harlow town park on Sunday 6 November 2022.

Around 20,000 people attended the free-admission event, which was part of Harlow’s 75th birthday celebrations. The event itself celebrated its 44th year with the first ever event being held in the Town Park in 1978 (not held in 2020 due to the pandemic).

The celebrations started with a light parade through The Showground followed by the lighting of the bonfire by the Chair of Harlow Council, Councillor Andrew Johnson.

A spectacular 20-minute fireworks display, which lit up the sky above the town park, followed at 7pm.

We would like to thank staff, stewards, volunteers, security staff, HTS, the Great Parndon Community Association and Harlow Police for all their hard work in making sure the event was successful and safe.

Many families who attended the event have been sharing their memories of the night on social media. Feedback has included:

“It was an amazing event better than the ones before I loved it!”

“Amazing as always. Thanks for putting on such a brilliant display.”

“Absolutely amazing as always, Harlow really knows how to put on a display.

The first one I’ve been to since I was a child, and it was absolutely spectacular!
