Harlow Town Park is now a Grade II listed site having been added to the list of Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest by Historic England.
It is unusual for a public park to be given listed status, but the Town Park - planned by Sir Frederick Gibberd and designed by landscape architect Dame Sylvia Crow - was considered significant because of it's association with the new town and its picturesque planning.
The decision is a testament to the work of our staff, volunteers and HTS, who have worked hard in recent years to restore the park back to its very best.
This status will help to preserve and protect the park for future generations, which is very important to both the council and our residents.
