Good causes of all shapes and sizes are being encouraged to attend the launch event of Harlow Community Lottery for their chance to get a slice of the ticket proceeds.
The new fundraising initiative will help provide good causes with additional financial support, as well as give residents the chance to win a weekly cash prize.
Each week players will be given the opportunity to pay £1 per ticket and choose the cause they want to support.
A generous 60% of the ticket proceeds from Harlow Community Lottery will go to charities, voluntary organisations and other not-for-profit groups, with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.
Leading lottery management company, Gatherwell, has been appointed by Harlow Council to operate the lottery, having successfully launched similar lotteries throughout the UK.
