Logo Design Competition

Published date

Harlow Creates is looking for ideas for a new logo and branding identity. We are welcoming submissions from local young people.

What do we want to see?

We want to see logo ideas that we can use online, on print material, and on dark and light-coloured backgrounds. This can be a drawing, digital image, collage, or anything else that works.

What do you win?

Shortlisted entries will be given to our fantastic graphic designers, Snootie Studios, who will use them to create the new logo and branding for Harlow Creates. This will be the face of arts and culture right across Harlow. Shortlisted young artists will also receive a letter and certificate from Harlow Creates, thanking them for their work. The overall winning entry will also win four tickets to the Harlow Playhouse panto for January 2023.

What are the dates? The competition launches on 4 November. All submissions need to be handed to the Gibberd Gallery at the Civic Centre by 4pm on Monday 5 December 2022.

Who can enter? Any young person aged 4-19 years old and living or studying in Harlow.

How do we enter? Entries should be labelled with the name and initial of the artist, their age and their school or group (eg. Maisie W, 9, Hare Street Primary). Please gather together all your entries and hand them into the Gibberd Gallery, Civic Centre, The Water Gardens CM20 1WG in an envelope or folder marked ‘Harlow Creates – Logo Design Comp’. entries should be submitted on paper. Email attachments should be saved as JPEG files and sent to harlowcreates@harlow.gov.uk. We cannot return entries, but you can submit a good quality colour photocopy and keep the original if you like. Young artists can enter individually as well. You don’t have to be part of a school or group.

How do I approach this with my class or group? Snootie Studios have created a short video brief, aimed at young people. This should give your young artists all the information they need to design some fantastic logos! You can watch the video at: https://youtu.be/6oRr8qTN0RA How many times can someone enter? As many times as you like! If a young artist has lots of different great ideas, we want to see them!
