A new walking challenge is set to launch on 8 August as part of Harlow’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
Harlow Council has teamed up with Go Jauntly, Active Harlow and Active Essex to create Harlow75, a special walking challenge encouraging residents to walk 75 minutes per week.
Residents will be able to collect digital badges at key milestones and there will be extra badges for those who walk more than 75 minutes. There are also weekly prizes up for grabs, as well as grand prizes for gold, silver and bronze. Family friendly prizes have been donated by Harlow Playhouse, Harlow Museum, Pets’ Corner, Harlow Leisurezone, Changing Lives in Harlow, Roots to Wellbeing and Go Jauntly.
There are many positive physical and mental health benefits to walking and the challenge provides a great opportunity for residents to get fit for free.
Hana Sutch, CEO and Co-Founder at Go Jauntly said:
“Following the successful launch of new walking routes in Harlow earlier this year, we are thrilled to be, once again, teaming up with the team at Harlow Council, Active Essex and now Active Harlow too. The Harlow75 challenge is a celebration of the town, but also a fun way to encourage residents to get outside and get walking.”
The challenge starts on Monday 8 August but you can download the Go Jauntly app now for free from the Apple Store or Google Play. For more information, visit www.gojauntly.com
