New woodland dedicated to The Queen’s Green Canopy

Published date

On Friday 11 March, the Chair of Harlow Council, Councillor Clive Souter, planted an oak tree, which is the final tree to be planted as part of the new community woodland on Second Avenue

The woodland is being dedicated to the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique UK-wide tree planting scheme to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022

In total 850 whips (small trees) and 11 standard trees made up of 16 different species have been planted on the helipad area of Second Avenue to create the new community woodland

We would like to thank everyone who has been part of this project including residents, groups, council staff, volunteers and councillors who took part in the community tree planting day back in January
