Staff and councillors clean up to kick-off Harlow’s Big Spring Clean

Published date

On 9 May 2022, a team of Harlow councillors, council staff and HTS officially launched Harlow’s Big Spring Clean 2022.

The team picked up litter in the housing estates and green spaces around the Latton Bush Centre, filling up 30 bags and collecting one dumped shopping trolley and two highway cones.

Harlow’s Big Spring Clean will run until 25 June 2022 and this year is part of Harlow’s 75th anniversary celebrations. The annual spring clean brings together individuals, community organisations, businesses, and schools to make a difference to their local environment.

This year more than 1,000 residents from 60 different groups are set to take part. The council will be supplying all the equipment needed and arranging the collection of bags. Thank you to all those who are signed up to take part.

The clean-ups will be in addition to the daily work HTS and volunteer groups like the Harlow Wombles do to clean up the town of litter and rubbish.

Applications for this year’s Harlow Big Spring Clean are now closed. We will be running the event again next spring, so if you are interested in taking part in future events email harlowspringclean@harlow.gov.uk
