Renew your licence

We will tell you how long your licence is valid for when we grant it. The length of your licence depends on the rating we gave you.

We will write to you before your licence expires to remind you to renew it.

You need to submit your application to renew your licence, at least 10 weeks before it’s due to expire.

To renew your licence, you need to:

• contact us
• pay the application fee of £175 (up to 6 bitches) or £260 (7 or more bitches)
• pay the grant fee of £80 (up to 6 bitches) or £107 (more than 7 bitches)

If we need to consult a vet as part of the application process, you will also need to pay the vet fees.

The total fee to apply for this licence is £255 (up to 6 bitches) or £367 (7 or more bitches), plus any vet fees.

We will ask you to pay the total fee for the licence up front. If we do not grant your licence we will refund your grant fee.

After you contact us to renew your licence, we will arrange an inspection with a vet.

We will use our inspection to decide whether to grant your licence and what your rating will be.
