Armed Forces Day flag raised in support for service personnel

Published date

On Monday 23 June Harlow Council gathered outside the Civic Centre as the country marked the start of Armed Forces Week. The week  leads up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 28 June.

A flag-raising ceremony, attended by representatives from the Royal British Legion, was held outside the Civic Centre. The Chair of the Council, Councillor Andrew Johnson, led the proceedings before a prayer from Reverend Jokey Poyntz and a reading of the Epitaph before the flag was raised.

The flag shows the town's support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets.

The flag will be flying all week.
