Construction is now underway on another major development at the Harlow Innovation Park after this week’s groundbreaking for a major private sector development that will bring millions of pounds of investment and hundreds of jobs to the town.
The £30 million Identity scheme, being delivered by Wrenbridge in partnership with Harlow Council, marks a significant milestone in the council’s mission to ‘secure our future’ and demonstrates growing private sector confidence in Harlow as a place to invest, grow and innovate.
Identity is a landmark new business hub at the Innovation Park, designed to attract cutting-edge companies in life sciences, technology, research and advanced manufacturing. The start of construction signals a clear commitment from investors to Harlow’s future and its role at the heart of the UK Innovation Corridor.
The development forms a key part of the council’s ambition to ‘Secure our Future’, driving long-term economic growth, job creation and opportunity for local people. It will sit alongside the successful Nexus, Modus and Arise buildings and complements wider investment in the area, including the soon-to-open David Lloyd Leisure Club.
Identity will deliver over 149,000 sq. ft of high-quality commercial space across six units ranging from 12,000 sq. ft to 56,000 sq. ft, alongside modern first-floor office accommodation. Once fully occupied, it is expected to support hundreds of high-value jobs in the innovation and technology sectors.
The scheme will offer:
- Six units of R&D and hi-tech manufacturing accommodation
- Modern first-floor office space
- A prime location in the centre of the UK Innovation Corridor, with excellent transport links to London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport
- Market-leading sustainability, targeting EPC A and BREEAM Excellent, with advanced insulation, airtightness and renewable energy
- Superfast broadband
- Extensive landscaping and staff amenity space
Commenting on the groundbreaking, Councillor Dan Swords, Leader of Harlow Council, said:
