Harlow Bus Station will be temporarily closed from 7pm on Saturday 25 May and will reopen at 5am on Tuesday 28 May.
This closure is so that the Terminus House Footbridge can be removed safely as part of the regeneration of the Bus Station and Terminus Street.
Businesses in the area are open as normal including Mecca Bingo, however pedestrians will need to use Broad Walk to travel north and south rather than Terminus Street. Pedestrians for Mecca Bingo will also be able to use the Terminus House car park for access.
The taxi rank will also be temporarily closed from 7pm on Saturday 25 May to 5am on Tuesday 28 May. An additional rank will be available in College Square, along with the existing Playhouse Square one.
Buses will use temporary stops located on South Gate (next to Harlow Police Station):
- T1 Stop in layby – services 2 (Arriva),6 (Arriva) & 10 (Arriva) towards Rail Station / Little Parndon/ 724 (Arriva) to Heathrow and 737 (National Express) to Oxford and Stansted Airport.
- T2 Stop adjacent to Police Station Notice Board – services 8 (Arriva) Old Harlow / 10 (Arriva) Church Langley, 59 (Arriva) Chelmsford, 510 (Arriva) Stansted Airport.
- T3 Stop adjacent to Police Station ‘Door D’ – services 1 (Arriva) Sumners, 2 (Arriva) Great Parndon, 4 (Arriva) Latton Bush, 418B Loughton (Central Connect), 420 (Central Connect) Ongar.
During this time Crown Gate and South Gate will be restricted access only for buses, emergency services and commercial services.
