A strength and balance service is available for Harlow residents who would like to improve their mobility.
Regular gentle strength-based activities are proven to help improve mobility and prevent falls, leading to a more active, social and independent life.
Social.Active.Strong offers a free 12 week programme of activity designed to build strength and keep the muscles, bones and joints strong; helping to improve balance and sustain your day to day activity levels.
By taking part in strength based physical activity at least two days a week, adults and older people can reduce their risk of falling by up to 30%.
The service is available to adults living in or registered to a GP’s practice in Harlow, Uttlesford or Epping Forest.
Sessions in Harlow take place at:
- Moot House, The Stow
- Great Parndon Community Association, Staple Tye
- St Thomas Moore Church
- The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, Bush Fair
